Chief Compliance Officer and Financial Advisor

Austin Sweerus is the Chief Compliance Officer and a Financial Advisor at Christopher Edwards Financial Associates. Like his mentor, Ed Naphor Sr., Austin takes great pride in the long-term trusting relationships he has built and loves seeing his clients thrive as they strive to achieve their financial goals. In addition to working directly with clients, Austin has served as the firm’s compliance officer since 2014 and proudly accepted the role as Chief Compliance Officer for Fortis Group Advisors, LLC in 2020. He strives to build and maintain a culture that is proudly designed with a goal to prioritize the best interests of the firm’s clients and emphasize the firm’s unwavering fiduciary responsibility.  

Austin joined the company as an advisor in 2010 and maintains his Series 7 and 24 securities licenses held through LPL Financial and the Series 66 held through LPL Financial and Fortis Group Advisors, LLC, in addition to the necessary licenses to conduct life insurance related business.  He subscribes to a personalized approach in order to address the unique circumstances and goals we all face while on the road of life.  His commitment is to work hard to implement the strategies believed to best serve his clients at all times.

Austin graduated from Monmouth University with a Bachelor of Science. He is a lifelong resident of the Jersey Shore area and resides in Forked River, New Jersey with the love of his life and wife of 17 years, Chelsea, and their two daughters, Caylee and Harper. Austin is an avid boater and fisherman, as well as an aspiring man of leisure. When not in the office and the weather allows, he can be found with his family in or on the water or just simply relaxing at the beach.  He also enjoys (the occasional) rainy day movie marathon, gardening, hiking, and a good backyard BBQ with friends and family.
